Seminars & WorkshopsThere are no seminars or workshops currently scheduled until September.
Once again, the MSA is hosting a FREE BBQ for our clients with multiple sclerosis on August 7th at Golden Gardens park in Ballard (just north of Shilshole Marina). Come join us for food, fun, sun and surf. Bring your family & friends! We are also having our art display and are looking for our clients with an artistic bent who would like to have their work displayed and their story told. If you are interested in participating, please call Laurie at 206-633-2606. If you would like to sign up for the BBQ, call us at 206-633-2606. Can't wait to see you there! Directions to Golden Gardens Park:
8498 Seaview Pl. NW, Seattle, WA I-5 Northbound or Southbound: Take exit to 45th St and head west. 45th becomes NW Market St. in Ballard. Follow it through Ballard and keep on towards Shilshole Bay. Bear left at the “Y” just before Hiram Chittenden Locks and continue on NW 54th. This curves north at Shilshole Bay and becomes Seaview Ave NW. Seaview Ave NW dead-ends at Golden Gardens Park. Go straight on into the park and drive to the turn-around circle. Unload there (this is Shelter #2) and then park anywhere in the parking lots on either side. Note: The alternate route from NW 85th to Golden Gardens is closed for road repairs!

Counseling Services at MSA Just a reminder...as part of our regular services, the MSA offers short-term counseling. At the time of a new diagnosis, or as other transitions occur, it is often helpful to have someone to talk to about all the changes going on in one's life. Questions arise such as "What does a diagnosis of MS mean today?", "Should I apply for Social Security Disability?" and "How can I help my spouse through this?" We offer counseling services to family members as well, dealing with cognitive and emotional changes that MS can bring, as well as grief support. No one is denied services because of an inability to pay. Donations help cover costs. Some insurance companies and local agencies will also cover counseling.
Was this information helpful? Then please consider making a donation. We are a small, independent nonprofit agency and are dependent on donations from our supporters. Thank you from all the staff at the MSA. |
